Skidmore recently lost a valued colleague, teacher, mentor, and friend, . We will gather to remember her at noon on Sunday, March 1, in Gannett Auditorium. All are all invited to attend this memorial service.
ČPresident’s open office hours
President Conner invites all faculty, staff, and students to his open office hour from 3 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, March. 24. Email the Office of the President to reserve a 10-minute, in-person meeting.
Maximo system temporarily down
The Facilities Services work order system, Maximo, is currently unavailable. Skidmore IT is working with the vendor to restore service. Call Facilities Services at (518) 580-5860 to submit requests.
Departmental mail delivery update
Due to an unexpected staffing shortage, the Post Office has temporarily paused departmental mail deliveries through the end of the week. Departments should pick up mail in the Case Center Post Office between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Wednesday–Friday. The 8:30 a.m. Biology and Chemistry delivery will continue as usual.

Professor Barbara Black will deliver her lecture "" about the three books that have formed the centerpiece of her scholarly project at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, in Gannett Auditorium.
ČSkidmore Theater presents: BLOOM BLOOM POW
Written by Genevieve Simon and Directed by Lu Glassberg, "" will screen Feb. 27 through March 4 at the JKB Black Box Theater. The film explores the climate crisis while celebrating queer joy and magic. .
Registration for Summer Sports Camps
Registration for Skidmore Summer Sports Camps opens March 1. Led by Skidmore coaches, the camps are open to children of all ages and teach teamwork concepts and skills in baseball, basketball, field hockey, ice hockey, lacrosse, soccer, softball, and volleyball.
Children's swimming lessons
The swimming and diving team will offer children’s swimming lessons this spring for children ages 4 and older. Classes will be held Thursdays beginning March 26. Registration will take place from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 5, in the Williamson Sports Center lobby. Contact Jill Greenleaf for more information.
Accreditation update
Skidmore has submitted its Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) Self-Study and evidence for reaffirmation of accreditation. The peer review team will visit campus March 29 through April 1. The team will present its preliminary findings at 10:10 a.m. Wednesday, April 1, in Gannett Auditorium.
“Counted Out” film screening and discussion
A screening of the documentary “Counted Out,” which explores how math shapes everything from economic opportunity to democracy, will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 19, in the Wyckoff Center. A discussion on promoting math literacy will follow. .
Roundtable on the Founding and Future of Gender Studies
A moderated roundtable featuring founding and early faculty members and alumni reflecting on the origins, evolution and continued relevance of Gender Studies at Skidmore will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 5, in the Wyckoff Center.
