Emergency alert and siren testing
‌Campus Safety will conduct a test of both the siren and Skidmore Urgent Notification System (SUNS) at approximately 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 18, for roughly 15 minutes. If you are outside and do not hear the siren, please call ext. 5567 or email Campus Safety. If you are signed up for SUNS notifications and do not receive an email, text message, and/or voicemail as expected, please email Lori Parks.

‌Black Men Speaking: A Conversation with Eight African American Writers
‌All are invited to join distinguished African American writers Ethelbert Miller, Clifford Thompson, Jerald Walker, Mark Sanders, Gerald Early, David Nicholson, John McCluskey Jr., and Charles Johnson on Wednesday, Feb. 18, from 4–5 p.m. for a conversation about American history, literature, politics, and culture. Assistant Professor Tammy Owens will moderate.

‌Those who are observing Ramadan are invited to with the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life and check SkidSync to receive information about resources and events. will be held on the first day of Ramadan at the Wyckoff Center.

‌Ash Wednesday and Lent
‌Receive ashes on the second floor of Case Center or join the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life for a gathering at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, in the Wyckoff Center. Midday prayer will be held Mondays at 12:30 p.m. in Case 205. A Lenten study group, focused on Christian nationalism, will meet Thursdays from noon to 1 p.m. during Lent. or contact orsl@skidmore.edu for more information.

‌Celebrate love and care from 1–4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13, in the Wyckoff Center with breathwork workshops, chair massages, crafts, and a tea lounge featuring the Wyckoff Signature Blend. We are guided by bell hooks’ wisdom in her book “All About Love: New Visions”: “The choice to love is a choice to connect — to find ourselves in the other.”
